How to inspect the battery?

There are some points how to inspect the battery which are given below,
- Check the battery does not have loose posts, and the case is not cracked, bulging, or showing signs of leaking fluid.
- Check the battery surface is free of dirt and moisture.
- Ensure the battery connections are clean and corrosion free.
- Ensure the cables of battery are properly sized.
- Check the battery cables have no frayed wires and the insulation is intact.
- Check the battery cables are flexible and bend freely. Popping or crackling sounds while bending the cables indicates corrosion. Replace the cables.
- Check the electrolyte solution if the battery has access. Add enough distilled water to maintain the electrolyte level just below the filler tube.
- Check that the battery is properly secured and the mounting hardware is not too tight.
- Check the performance test and charging of the battery.
- Test the voltages, float current and ripple current of the battery.
- Test the temperature of the battery, because it is very critical for batteries, as high temperatures reduces battery life.
